自投不自复英语怎么说
"自投网络" (self-tossing into the net) is a Chinese idiom that comes from the game of Chinese chess (xiangqi). In the game, a player can put his own chess piece into his own palace (shuanglong), or "net", in order to save it from capture by the opponent. The idiom is used to describe a situation in which one sacrifices one's own interests for the sake of others, or in which one harms oneself in order to harm someone else.
The phrase equivalent in English is "cutting off one's nose to spite one's face" that mean to hurt oneself in an attempt to hurt someone else, or to take a foolish or extreme action in order to get revenge or make a point.
Examples:
-He was so angry at his boss that he quit his job, but now he's regretting it. He's really just cutting off his nose to spite his face.
-She refused to sell her house, even though she needed the money, because she knew the buyer was a friend of her ex-husband. She was cutting off her nose to spite her face.
