厕所没纸啦！厕纸用英文怎么说？

前两年，新冠疫情在全球蔓延，死亡病例不断增多，给全球人们带来了极大的恐慌，不少国家和地区采取了“封城”的措施。在“封城”的情况下，一应供应设施可能会在短时间内出现短缺的现象，导致不少民众跑去超市哄抢。

国内居民大多是抢菜、大米等食物，而在澳大利亚、英国、加拿大等国家，居民朋友抢购的竟然是厕纸!这种现象虽然比较奇葩，但是，在疫情期间却是非常常见的，那么，“厕纸”用英语怎么说呢?

一、厕纸用英文怎么说?

toilet paper/ toilet roll 厕纸、卫生纸

paper本身就是纸的意思，但是，强调的是“写字用的纸”，而厕纸则比写字用的纸更加柔软、舒适。toilet是“厕所”的意思，所以，厕纸可以用toilet paper表示。

toilet roll 也是厕纸的意思，指的是厕所用的卷筒纸。

例句：

Can you please pass me a roll of toilet paper? I ran out in the bathroom.

请你帮我递一卷卫生纸好吗?我在浴室里用完了。

The store was completely sold out of toilet rolls due to panic buying during the pandemic.

由于大流行期间的恐慌性购买，商店里的卫生纸完全售罄了。

厕纸可以用toilet paper/或者toilet roll 表示，如果上厕所的时候没有纸了，怎么说呢?

我们可以这样说：

二、各种纸的英语表达

1、tissue 面巾纸、手帕纸

tissue 表示人或者动物的组织，也可以表示面巾纸或者手帕纸。

注意：tissue 表示纸巾的时候，一般是可数名词，但是，如果是指组织或者包装绵纸的时候，是不可数的。

所以，一盒面巾纸的时候，后面要用复数，如：

A box of tissues：一盒纸巾

例句：

She used a tissue to wipe away her tears after watching a sad movie.

她在看完一部悲伤的电影后用纸巾擦去了眼泪。

I always keep a pack of tissues in my bag for emergency situations.

我总是在包里备有一包纸巾以备紧急情况。

也可以直接用Kleenex/ˈkliˌnɛks/来表示，Kleenex是美国最著名的纸巾品牌，美国人习惯用这个词来指代面巾纸。

2、napkin 餐巾纸

吃完饭后，一般需要用到餐巾纸，这里可以用napkin表示。

注意：napkin 是可数名词。

例句：

The waiter offered me a napkin to wipe my hands after eating the messy barbecue ribs.

服务员递给我一张餐巾纸，让我擦拭吃完凌乱的烤肋排后的手。

She used a napkin to dab at the red wine stain on her white dress.

3、paper towel厨房用纸

相对说来，厨房用纸较硬，不易碎，且具有一定的吸油、吸水的作用，是用来代替抹布的。可以用paper+towel来表示，因为towel是毛巾、抹布的意思。

例句：

I spilled coffee on the table and quickly grabbed a paper towel to clean it up.

我在桌子上洒了咖啡，迅速拿起一张厨房用纸擦拭干净。

After washing my hands, I reached for a paper towel to dry them off.

洗完手后，我拿起一张厨房用纸擦干。

4、wipe 湿纸巾

顾名思义，湿纸巾是湿的纸巾，具有一定的清洁力，不过，千万不要用wet tissue，别人可能会误会，以为是用过的纸巾，而正确的说法是wipe。

例句：

I always keep a pack of wet wipes in my bag for quick and easy cleaning on the go.

我总是在包里备有一包湿纸巾，方便出门时快速清洁使用。

He used a wet wipe to remove the dirt and grime from his shoes before entering the house.

他在进入房屋之前用湿纸巾清除鞋子上的污垢和灰尘。

5、wrapping Paper 包装纸

给人送礼物的时候，一般需要包装纸，经过包装纸包装，礼物会更加精美、上档次。而包装纸则可以用wrapping Paper来表示。

例句：

She wrapped the fragile gift in a layer of wrapping paper to protect it, and then secured it with tape.

她用一层包装纸将易碎的礼物包裹起来，以保护它，然后用胶带固定住。
