Boys and Girls,

Life is but a hard and bitter journey．Therefore, I would like to say, “ No matter what happens, be self-confident．”

I’d like to share my own experience with you．When I was 14, I suffered from a lack of confidence．I didn’t dare to answer teachers’ questions in class and was afraid to speak in public．Later, something happened and changed my life．It was a speech contest held at our school．My mother persuaded me to participate, and she had great confidence in me．I chose a topic most appropriate to me－Self-confidence and Success．I tried my best to recite my whole speech and practiced it more than 100 times before a mirror．With my mother’s great love and encouragement, I won the first prize in the contest!

Since then, I feel strongly self-confidence is the first step towards success．So, dear friends, be self-confident and have a brighter future．
