At the beginning of an inquest into his death, Gloucestershire Coroner’s court was told the 45-year-old died from a ‘traumatic head wound’.

Senior coroner Katy Skerrett said Mr Kingston had been visiting his parents Martin and Jill for Sunday lunch.

After they ate, his dad went out to walk the family dogs – but upon his return, his son was nowhere to be found.

The court was told his dad forced entry on a locked out building in the manor and discovered his son with a ‘catastrophic’ head injury.

‘Mr Kingston was visiting his parents’ home in the Cotswolds,’ Mr Skerrett detailed the circumstances that led to his death. ‘He ate lunch with his parents.

‘His dad went out to walk the dogs.

‘His dad forced entry on a locked out building when no reply could be gained. He found Mr Kingston deceased with a catastrophic head injury.A gun was present at the scene.

‘Emergency services were called. Police are satisfied the death is not suspicious.

‘A post mortem has been undertaken by Dr Jones, a consultant histopathologist, and a provisional cause of death has been given as 1a traumatic wound to head.’
