The 34-year-old Harry Potter star has been attending Oxford University since September after enrolling in a part-time Master’s degree program in creative writing, after gaining her undergraduate degree at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Although heavy security has kept students from approaching her at Oxford, one man has been insistent on meeting her, allegedly reaching out to English department staff for information about the actress. Locals have also reportedly spotted Chad Michael Busto asking about the star, according to The Sun Newspaper.

Mr Busto, who is an American citizen, was previously arrested last year after allegedly trying to break into her dressing room at a fashion show in New York. On Wednesday, Chad, 44, appeared at Colnbrook Immigration Centre near Heathrow and told The Sun: "I visited the English department and spoke to people. I went to the main admissions centre trying to gain information."

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told The Mirror: "On 26 June 2024, Thames Valley Police officers arrested a 44-year-old man from the United States of America on suspicion of stalking. He has been released under investigation."

Due to her popularity, it was reported last year that Emma had a security team accompany her to classes to ensure her safety on campus. A source told The Sun: "The course is for older adults and can be done on a part-time basis, which is perfect for Emma’s schedule.

Busto was previously arrested in September after he allegedly tried to break into her dressing room at a fashion show in New York. He was heard yelling that he wanted to marry Emma, but claimed to The Sun at the time that his words had been "taken out of context" and that he had wanted to get her attention.

Busto has also been accused of pestering actress Drew Barrymore and showed up at her home in the Hamptons, univited, just a month before his New York incident with Emma Watson. Drew, 48, was not at home when he walked onto her estate and he was subsequently taken into police custody. He was released but later charged with stalking in the fourth degree, a class B misdemeanor.

You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you're in New York, okay?" Drew was escorted off stage with Renee Rapp while Busto was escorted out of the theatre by security guards.
